Endowed Chair of Procurement wins two best paper awards at the Academy of Management 2017

At the annual meeting of the Academy of Management 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia, two of the Chair's current research papers were awarded with prestigious awards from the Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM) division.

Christoph Bode and Maximilian Merath won the "Chan Hahn Best Paper Award" for their paper "Supply Disruption Management: The Early Bird Catches the Worm, but the Second Mouse Gets the Cheese?" (USD 500) and Michael Westerburg and Christoph Bode obtained the "Best Paper in Supply Chain Management Award" (USD 1.000) for their paper "Supply Chain Risk and Risk Mitigation: Which Strategies Tackle Identified Risks Most Efficiently?". It is the first time that these two best paper awards go to the same institution.

The Academy of Management was established in 1936 and is the leading professional association for management research and education. It publishes several academic journals, organizes conferences, and provides others forums for management professors and managers to communicate research and ideas.
